As a behavior management system in my classroom, I have chosen to have classroom jobs and a classroom bank account. Each student will have a classroom job, that is in addition to turning in homework and following expectations. Every job has a set amount of salary based on the amount of work that job entails. There will be applications that go out the first day of school and those jobs will remain, unless there is an issue that arises, throughout the year. Based on their job, they will earn a paycheck every other Friday. Students can also earn more money if they go above and beyond expectations. Similarly, they can lose money by not meeting expectations in the classroom. During study hall on Fridays, they can use their money to buy certain things that I have priced as rewards, while still saving enough money to pay bills.
Each month, there will be bills sent out to each student for living (in their desks), electricity, and water. They will be in charge of writing checks to pay for these bills and sending the checks to me by the due date on their bill. It will be very similar to the real world life of bills and money, just at a smaller scale.
If there are any questions or concerns about this system, please feel free to contact me.
